Nguyen Van Duong – former Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNC Company, is known as the mastermind behind a large-scale illegal gambling organization in Vietnam, leaving extremely serious consequences. According to information from authorities, Nguyen Van Duong organized a large online gambling network called RIKVIP, operating in multiple provinces and cities across Vietnam.
Duong used modern technology to attract gamblers and their money into his system. According to reports, he earned over 1.6 trillion Vietnamese dong from this gambling operation.
In 2018, the police conducted a large-scale crackdown and arrested multiple individuals involved with the gambling organization led by Nguyen Van Duong. Duong himself was arrested and charged with organizing illegal gambling. Additionally, he was accused of money laundering and bribery. So, has Nguyen Van Duong been released from prison?
Has Nguyen Van Duong been released from prison? Currently, Nguyen Van Duong has not been released and is still serving his prison sentence until its designated expiration date as stated in the concluded verdict.
Specifically, on the afternoon of November 30, 2018, the Provincial People’s Court of Phu Tho conducted the final trial session and officially pronounced the sentencing for the defendants and individuals involved in this case. Recognizing the particularly serious nature of Duong’s actions in defrauding money online, amounting to over 1 trillion dong.
Furthermore, considering his money laundering activities and multiple instances of bribery involving C50 Department Director Nguyen Thanh Hoa and Phan Van Vinh, the court recommended a prison term for Duong ranging nguyen van duong rikvip from 11 to 13 years.
Applying the leniency policy as stipulated by law, the final punishment for the “gambling boss” was determined to be 5 years in prison for the charge of “Organizing gambling” and 5 years for the charge of “Money laundering”.
